Spotter Alert System

The Newport SKYWARN Alert Network was established to alert staff members, net control stations, and spotters of impending severe weather or net operations. The system is setup to send short, canned messages out to cellphones, pagers, and other wireless devices. With this capability we can alert all spotters within a few seconds.

The messages that are capable of being sent are:

Skywarn Spotter Activation Requested! Check MHX Skywarn website or Skywarn repeater.

Severe Weather is expected. Please be alert. Check your e-mail for more information.

Cancel MHX SKYWARN Spotter Alert.

If you do not know your wireless device's e-mail address, include the phone number of the device and your service provider and I may be able to come up with a solution.
